Porter / Make Ready Technician
Hire Priority is seeking a dependable, hard-working Porter / Make Ready Technician for a multifamily apartment community in Austin, TX. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can help maintain the overall appearance of the property, and can ensure vacant apartment homes are ready for new residents in a timely manner.

This opportunity is ideal for a motivated team player with maintenance, make ready, porter, handyman, remodeling, or general labor experience who can support both unit turns and exterior property upkeep. The right candidate will be comfortable handling a variety of maintenance tasks, prioritizing daily responsibilities, and working closely with the property manager and maintenance team.

Porter / Make Ready Technician Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure all vacant apartments are fully restored to make ready status for new resident move-in
• Perform basic maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting
• Troubleshoot and repair items such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors, cabinets, walls, and building exteriors
• Assist with the exterior upkeep of buildings and community grounds
• Help maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the property
• Diagnose and assist with appliance repair, troubleshooting, and installation
• Prioritize daily workload and coordinate with the property manager as needed
• Support the maintenance team with additional porter, make ready, and general property duties as assigned

• Temp-to-Hire position
• Schedule: Monday- Friday

Qualifications:

• Previous make ready, porter, maintenance, handyman, remodeling, construction, or general labor experience preferred
• Must have your own basic tools
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is helpful
• Professional or commercial painting experience is a plus
• Groundskeeper experience is helpful
• CPO experience is a plus
• Must be dependable, organized, and able to prioritize work effectively
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Clean criminal background required
• Clean credit check required
• Must be able to provide valid identification, proof of authorization to work in the United States, and complete the application and interview process
